Movies are coming to a cinema near you soon, thanks to a new streaming service called MoviePass.
The company launched its MoviePass service last week and has already received several hundred million views from customers in the US and Canada.
The service is compatible with the major Hollywood studios, including Warner Bros., Paramount, and Disney, and can stream movies from HBO, Amazon, and Hulu.
Users can also download movies from other apps such as Amazon Prime Video, Hulu Plus, Netflix, and Netflix Plus.
While the MoviePass app does not come with the traditional cable box, it does come with a “Netflix-like” subscription that includes streaming of movies and shows, as well as access to HBO, Showtime, and HBO GO.
“It’s not going to be an actual cable box anymore,” MoviePass founder Sam Zablocki told the Associated Press.
“It’s a subscription, it’s a TV service, it has HBO.
It has Showtime.”
Zablockich said the company plans to offer movie viewing for $8 a month, although he did not provide any specifics on the price.
Netflix has also announced it will be offering movie streaming for $9 a month.
However, there is no word yet on the availability of movie-watching services in Australia.
MoviePass was created by Australian filmmaker Sam Zabs.
The service was recently added to the Google Play Store, and users can stream content from the service’s online library.
